The Power of God

"For if we have been united with Him in a death like His, we shall certainly be united with Him in a resurrection like His." Romans 6:5

While pondering Romans 6 and 2nd Corinthians 13:3,4 these thoughts and poem came to mind.

As Paul spoke not only to those in the audience who belong to God in Christ at that present moment, he was also speaking to all that belong to God in Christ from that day forward, and thus the truth of the effect of the gospel continues by the power of the Spirit of God through the Word and the words of God not only because of the fact of the historical and literal resurrection of Christ but because HE LIVES by the power of God and the glory of the Father, we also live with Him by the power of God and the glory of the Father in and through Christ Jesus our Lord.


Have you been crushed because of sin?
Do you now live with Christ within?
Has your old self been crucified?
Is now the Spirit of God your guide?
Do you now trust in His perfection
As told by His Word and resurrection?

Are you now free and do you now live
And hope for the glory of God now to give
Life from above to those now estranged
While breath remains in them who seem out of range?
Present now yourselves to God Who alone
Gives life to the dead, as He calls them His own.

Oh, let us petition the God of all grace
Til with Him in glory we see the dear face
Of Jesus our Saviour Who lives now above
And asks of the Father to answer in love,
For all that are His who now are all broken
And give Him the glory for all that is spoken.
